Seeking a Friend for the End of the World / Jusqu'a ce que la fin du monde nous separe

Until the end of the world separates us (Till the end of the world do us part)

There were many weird things I saw last time I went to France (I am still to post some of the pictures I took) but one of the first things to greet me when I arrived was a poster for the comedy with Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.
The reviews weren't great, but I liked the film: I thought there were quite good lines, the soundtrack was very good, Steve is acting like Steve, and it was nice to see Ms Knightley playing a lighter character than usual.
Seeking a Friend is the story of Dodge and Penny who meet 3 weeks before the end of the world, as a gigantor of an asteroid is about to hit the earth. The title probably comes from the fact that Dodge was dumped by his wife about a month before when the film begins, and he thinks he will die alone. Penny is his neighbour, an English woman in her late 20s who is a bit of a hippy.
Long story cut short, he will help her fly back to England to her family if she drives him to find the love of his life. It goes something like: go on a road trip ->fall in love -> end of the world.
I am interested in finding out why Keira's lost her records on her way to France. Any suggestion?

The title is, I think, merely a hommage to classified ads and some other film titles such as Single White Female or Desperately Seeking Susan contain such references.
The French title, on a different note, links to the common wedding vows (I have already discussed these when talking about Just Married) and they go something like “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part.”
Here, death is replaced by the end of the world, because, you know, the end of the world is coming, and it is half of the original title. Title, which, incidentally, only refers to "a friend", when by referring to the wedding vows, the French title establishes very quickly that romance will be an inherent part of the story, giving, once more, way more information that the writers intended.
To obtain a good translation, one would have to 1/ keep the classify ad feeling 2/ talk about the end of the world, as in “Recherche ami(e) pour fin du monde”, or, if you want to be completely literal “Recherche un(e) ami(e) pour la fin du monde”.
I guess a 50% score is above the usual.
