Yay!
Why Yay!? Well, considering that the main character of this film is a woman who lived in the 4th century, the themes of science versus religion and the place of women in society seem weirdly current and relevant.
And Rachel Weisz is excellent, along with most of the secondary characters.
I also really like Alejandro Amenabar's films.
I have to say that I completely missed when the film came out in the UK and only became aware of it after reading this article in the NY Times.
Update 15 Nov 2010: Upgraded from Yay to Rad.
There is also an article in The Age as the film is out in Australia.
