No Strings Attached / Sex Friends

Shag Buddies(?)

In the series "Sex Sells" which I have just thought of but I already have documented with Cruel Intentions and Step Up 3D, we will today have a look at No Strings Attached, a "romantic comedy with Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher".
Synopsis reads "Emma (Portman) and Adam (Kutcher) are friends who have sex one morning and worry about their friendship being ruined. They make a pact to have "no strings attached", to have casual sex without falling in love with each other."
I just had a quick read through the plot and it gave me headaches. I am also trying hard to think of another film where the man is meant to be the romantic with feelings and the woman doesn't believe in love and it just struck me as I'm typing that I am thinking of (500) Days of Summer.
It is slightly more difficult to write about a film you haven't seen, so I just read a few reviews, and it seems like a horrible film (unlike (500) Days of Summer).
Anyway, principles of romcom will say that, despite the heroine claiming she doesn't believe in love, she will fall for the guy, and that despite having no strings attached, they will get married or something.
And despite the obvious sexual connotation of the title, the "s word" is not mentioned, u
nlike the French titles that claims that the main characters are "Sex friends" (rule 3: translate a title in a foreign language to a title in the same foreign language)which is a term I have never heard before, not even in France and for all the reputation the French have about love and sex and romance and all that sort of things (see here too), I can't even think of a French word or expression to describe that sort of "special" relationship.
What does "no strings attached" mean, anyway? That there should be no feelings involved, so no emotional attachment. Although "sans attaches" could work, it doesn't convey the connotation the original title does, and "sans attachement", despite being another plausible translation, still does not lure you into the appropriate territory.
That's why they cut the subtle and added sex there and then...

Even passers by point out how stupid this translation is!
