The Book of Eli
First time watch: 17 October 2010
Meh.
I like Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. They are the reason I wanted to see this film.
I can't really put the finger on why I thought the film was a bit of a let down... The story vaguely resembles The Road (post apocalyptic world, but much sunnier, a guy with a mission, etc.), the secondary characters have a bit more depth than in this sort of films, the fights are rather good...
Maybe seeing Gary Oldman as a villain yet again makes me angry, maybe Mila Kunis should have had a bigger role.
I thought it took a while for the film to pick up speed and it ended fairly abruptly. I didn't feel satisfied in the end.
All in all, not a bad film, though.
